Humans are one of the known races.

History[]

Around two thousand years ago the humans arrived in what is now Hominum from the Akkad desert. They were led by the famed King Corwin who was said to have been banished from a great empire to the east by his brother. King Corwin and his people eventually integrated themselves with the native dwarves in their capital, later known by humans as Corcillum. In exchange for sanctuary there, the humans built strong walls around the city to protect their new home from the orcs in the southern jungles.

The orcs later set their sights on the elves and started invading their lands. In exchange for an alliance with elves, King Corwin required them to teach him and his nobles the art of summoning.

A thousand years later, the dwarves and humans lived in relative peace with one another. A council of dwarves ruled in conjunction with the human king and his nobles.

The balance of power was later shifted after a great sickness that was brought by human trades from the west swept across the dwarven population, killing so many the humans soon outnumbered the dwarves. Treacherously the human king slaughtered the council of dwarves at a meeting and began the process of subjugating their entire race.

The kings of Corcillum after that passed discriminatory laws against the dwarves in order to limit their population and essentially made them a minority in their own lands.

Later, the Raleigh family is slaughtered by orcs, prompting another war with the humans. The elves ultimately refused to aid the Hominum Empire against the orcs and ignored the tax collectors. The humans foolishly retaliated by declaring war on the elves.
